Your role

We are seeking a skilled Costs Draftsperson to join our team. This role will involve supporting our Head of Costs and fee-earners by preparing formal bills and supplementary documents for detailed assessment across intermediate and multi-track cases, as well as, negotiating and budgeting work.

Your role will involve but is not limited to:

  • Preparing N260 statements of costs and risk assessments.
  • Completing Precedent S and Q documents and initiating Detailed Assessment proceedings.
  • Preparing Precedent H, Precedent T and Precedent Z in the costs management process.
  • Negotiating costs and if necessary, requesting Provisional/Detailed Assessment.
  • Drafting formal bills for inter partes detailed assessment.
  • Working to WIP targets and adhering to deadlines set by supervisors.

What are we looking for from you?

  • Legal qualification (LLB, LPC, CLSB) desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in costs drafting within claimant personal injury sector.
  • Proficient in drafting Bills of Costs and, preferably, Precedent H, R, and Q, and finalising bills in Multi Track and budgeted cases.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Civil Procedures Rules and Detailed Assessment process.
  • Experience with Proclaim Case Management System and Costs Master software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic team environment.
