Women don’t always have the same typical heart attack symptoms as those of a male, such as an excruciating chest pain that travels down one arm.
Those symptoms can happen to women, but in many cases do not. The symptoms can be almost “silent” and quite minor, so women often brush it off as the flu, stress or simply “feeling under the weather”.
The VIRGO study showed the younger the woman, the less likely they are to experience chest pain.

ACT FAST
Just because the symptoms of a heart attack in women are less severe than those in a man, it doesn’t make the heart attack itself less severe. A heart attack is life threatening. If you think you, or anyone else is having a heart attack, phone 999 for an ambulance immediately. Do not attempt to drive yourself or another person to the hospital.
