Gita studied medicine at King’s College, London, coming third in her year. She then went on to qualify as a GP, with a specialist interest in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Shortly thereafter she moved to Australia, where she worked in a variety of medical areas including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Accident and Emergency and Rehabilitative Medicine as well as in general practice in rural Queensland. She also lectured at the University of Queensland (‘UQ’), Australia’s largest medical school, for five years.
While working at UQ, she developed a research interest in birth choices and birth injuries. When she returned to the UK this led her down the medico-legal path. She completed the law conversion course in 2017 at the University of Law, Leeds, graduating with distinction.
Gita is committed to using her mixed medico-legal background to get the best possible outcomes for her clients, knowing that she has the skills and expertise to understand the most complex cases.
